Connor’s Anthem is a another song written in the early 2000’s. My son Connor was born in 1999, and obviously this in an homage to him.
Like many of the other songs written and produced during this period, Allen Marshall and I closely on this song. The acoustic guitar intro was demo’d by me using synths, but eventually replaced by Allen.
One of the interesting things about this song is that the form is a bit unusual. Usually the solo’s of a song utilize a previous song-structure (like a verse, chorus, intro, etc.). In this case I wrote a separate chord progression for the solo’s . I also varied the chords under the melody to give it another edge.
